Formative Geographic Location (where did you grow up)?

What do you love most about your job?
I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding team of individuals who are dedicated to providing the highest educational opportunities to children and families. I love spending time in a center and surrounding myself with the laughter and welcoming smiles of eager little faces. To be able to ease a new parent's anxiety as they head off to work is a responsibility that I don't take lightly. I strive to treat every situation as if I were experiencing it as a parent myself.
If you could meet a famous person (alive or dead), who would you want to meet/why?
Rosa Parks--her determination for standing up an initiating change within her community marked the start of the Civil Rights movement. Her example remains an inspiration to freedom-loving people everywhere.
Who is your hero/why?
My grandmother, Rosalie, is and always has been my hero. After leaving school at the age of 13 and sacrificing her education so her father could get some sleep for his long days at the Dr. Pepper plant, she went on to start her own successful business at the age of 46. She always served as a shining example for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on how to live a full and complete life. Grammy was never afraid of adventure or a challenge!
What inspires you?
My daughter Bailey is my greatest inspiration. I wake up each day with the intent of instilling self respect and a value for a strong work ethic so she will grow up and achieve whatever she sets her mind to. Being her mom makes me want to be a better person.
What was your favorite subject in school/why?
Shop class! I enjoyed the chance to create something using creativity and artistic ability while using power tools.
What is (or was, growing up) your favorite color crayon?
Too many, but I can narrow it down to Magenta and Midnight Blue!
