I have a cottage in northern Michigan where my family gathers to play. Cruise and vacation with my husband John every year. Over 22 cruises to various places. Love wine and trying new wines.

Formative Geographic Location (where did you grow up)?
Mid-Michigan on a dairy farm that my brother still works and lives in the house I grew up in and my father was born in.

What do you love most about your job?
The children of course, and the honesty they show when you look them in the eye. I love the passion that others also have for what we do.

If you could meet a famous person (alive or dead), who would you want to meet/why?
Mother Teresa--would want to talk to her about how we can help those in need in the world, just to be with her would inspire me to do more work in the community I live in.

Who is your hero/why?
My daughter Kimberly (pediatric nurse) and mom to Lillian who has Type 1 diabetes. Kim not only takes care of my granddaughter but does nurse education for other families with Type 1 diabetes. She recently led a team to earn over $7,000 for JDRF!

What inspires you?
The Center Directors I have worked with in the past 20 years.

What was your favorite subject in school/why?
Recess, because there were few rules to follow and I didn't have to be quiet.

What is (or was, growing up) your favorite color crayon?
Blue. Least favorite color of crayon is Macaroni & Cheese – who thought to name a yellow crayon that?
