As Center Director, Sonya’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care. She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers. She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center. She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment.

Sonya has been with CCLC since 2000 and in the field for over 10 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University. She has worked with infants and school agers in a number of different roles. Sonya has an open door policy and is happy to chat with families and staff members as needed.

Program Information

The Downtown center believes in a play based philosphy using CCLC's Guided Discovery curriculum. Children are taught, shapes, colors, numbers, letters through play(i.e. games, songs, stories and interactive activities). Teachers in all age groups guide children through learning by participating and being highly interactive. Socialization, communication, and self help skills are the foundations for each age group.

Our center tour schedule is every Second Tuesday and Fourth Thursday of every month at 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00.  Please email Stephanie Masciocchi smasciocchi@cclc.com to confirm your appointment but walk ins are welcome.   If you would like to get on the waiting you can go to www.cclc.com/familyconnection and request enrollment to be placed on the waiting list.
