As Center Director, Debbie’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Debbie acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Debbie graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Child Development and a Minor in Psychology. She has over ten years of experience working with children aged infant through Pre-K including positions at the Cal Poly Children’s Center and a Montessori Children’s School.  Debbie joined CCLC in 2001 at our Los Altos center.  She has also held positions at our Palo Alto Downtown center including Preschool Teacher and Program Supervisor and was Center Director at CCLC Santa Rita prior to her current position here at CCLC in Sunnyvale.  Debbie enjoys working with children because she gets great satisfaction from teaching a child something for the first time and seeing their faces when they have just learned a new concept in life.  In her spare time, Debbie enjoys working out at the gym, hanging out with friends, listening to music, and watching movies. She also enjoys dancing hip hop, tap, ballet, modern and her new favorite - belly dancing! What she loves most about her job is getting to know all the children and their families. Debbie’s favorite center activity is the Week of the Young Child and making snow cones.
