As Center Director, Shannon’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Shannon acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Shannon graduated from San Francisco State University, with a B.A. in Child  and Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Research and Public Policy. She has over ten years of experience working with children ages infant through school age including positions at  Genentech 2nd Generation and Peninsula Family Service Agency. 

Shannon joined CCLC in 2012 at our Sandpiper  center.  Shannon enjoys working with children because she gets great satisfaction from teaching a child something for the first time and seeing their faces when they have just learned a new concept in life.  In her spare time, Shannon enjoys cooking, hanging out with friends, going to museums and watching movies. She also enjoys reading and visiting her family. What she loves most about her job is getting to know all the children and their families. Shannon’s favorite center activity is story telling and teaching children new games.
