As Center Director, Aleda’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Aleda acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Aleda began working with young people when she was only 15 as a ropes-coarse facilitator designed to encourage trust and teamwork amongst at-risk youth.  Though she holds a BA in Anthropology and Linguistics, her time working as a Middle School math and reading tutor all through college helped her realize she wanted to go into teaching and child development after college.

Aleda started with CCLC in December of 2002 and worked as a School-Age Head Teacher for over 2 years.  Aleda left CCLC in 2005 to pursue her Master’s Degree in International Relations.  She hopes to one day bring the philosophy of creating confident to children throughout the world.  She is excited to be back with CCLC and at Sandpiper with an amazing team of teachers and truly wonderful children!
