As Center Director, Sylvia’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care. She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers. She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center. She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Sylvia acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Sylvia has over 15 years of experience working with children, the last three overseeing the programs at Lincoln Elementary, Franklin Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary.  She has taught preschool and school-age children, held positions of Teacher, Head Teacher, Assistant Director and Site Director.   Sylvia has a BA degree in Human Development with emphasis in Psychology, an AA degree in Business Administration, an AS degree in Early Childhood Education and an Early Childhood Education certificate. Her next educational goal is to obtain her Master’s degree and continue taking workshops and conferences relating to children.  What she loves most about her job is the interactions with children and how they make life so easy and fun.
