As Center Director, Francesca’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well-being of everyone in her center – children, families, and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Francesca acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor, answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Francesca holds an M.A. from Columbia University Teacher’s College in Early Childhood Curriculum/Teaching and a B. A. from Tufts University where she majored in Child Studies. Francesca has been with the center since it opened in 2007 and continues to find creative ways for staff and children at the center to collaborate with faculty, students and programs at CSUSM. She is a versatile educator with 20 years of experience in administration and teaching, which includes leading and facilitating countless parent seminars. In 2008 Francesca spoke at the both the SDAYEC and CAEYC conferences.

Francesca resides in Carlsbad with her husband and two children. What she loves most about her job is the challenge of creating a new center and enriching the programs through collaboration with the university. Francesca’s favorite center activity is “Carols and Cocoa” and other new ways for families to get together.
