As Center Director, Cortney’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Cortney acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Cortney has been with CCLC since opening the center in 2004 and has been the director there since 2007. Cortney earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont.  Her favorite thing about working is the families – they’re all so welcoming and open, they really appreciate us a teachers and value their children’s learning – she loves working with families that care so much!  In her spare time, Cortney enjoys riding her horse and continues her love of teaching giving horseback riding lessons to kids. What she loves best about her job is the children and creating great relationships with the families. Cortney’s favorite center activity is the school wide “Back to School Potluck” at the end of August.
