As Center Director, Nicole’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care. She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers. She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center. She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Nicole acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Janis joined CCLC recently, bringing with her 15 years of experience managing child development centers in the District of Columbia.  Janis is a certified trainer for the District of Columbia in Early Childhood Education and an Advisor for the Council for Professional Recognition which awards the CDA.  She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and worked as a front line worker in Child Protective Services for 17 years.  She has also earned her Master’s of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Administration form the University of the District of Columbia. What she loves most about her job is interacting with the children. Janis’s favorite center activity is reading and water play.
