Kate's journey at the World Bank Children’s Center began in 2006 as the Director of Education. She was promoted to be the Center Director in February 2009. She has a Master’s Degree in Pedagogy with specialization in Early Childhood Education and has completed extensive studies on educational systems in different parts of the world.

Kate has extensive experience working in education with children and adults.  Being at the World Bank Children’s Center has been an exciting time for her. As a part of the Pedagogical Team, Kate directs, guides, acts as a resource, and supports the educational philosophy and pedagogy of the program.  Relationship building is an integral part of Kate’s work and building bridges between all of the WBCC’s constituents—staff, parents and children—across three sites, makes that possible.

The World Bank Children's Center (WBCC) is a three site center which includes infant, toddler & preschool classrooms. Our facilities have been constructed using environmentally friendly materials purchased from corporations employing ecologically friendly techniques. The thoughtful design & construction process has resulted in beautiful, spacious & inviting learning environments for children & adults. Programs are based on the real life experiences & the customs, languages, values, food & lifestyles that are shared among the diverse families in the center. Reflections of diversity become an integral part of the curriculum, celebrating the uniqueness of each child & family. The education program is continually evolving & we are informed and inspired by outstanding early childhood programs both locally & globally. Particularly, we are influenced by the work in the infant – toddler centers & preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. This Center is ONLY open to World Bank Group employees.
