As Center Director, Anita’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Anita acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Anita has been with the Florida Power and Light Child Development Center for over 9 years.  Anita has five children of her own in addition to over 18 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.  Anita holds a Child Development Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from the University of Miami.  Anita takes pride in being part of an employer-sponsored center; she enjoys watching the children through every developmental stage in her center. What she loves most about her job is the children and getting those hugs first thing in the morning. Anita’s favorite center activity is the Thanksgiving Luncheon, the Holiday Program, and slide shows.
