As Center Director, Darla’s role is to create a safe, positive and enriched learning environment for the children in her care.  She is devoted to the well being of everyone in her center – children, families and teachers.  She develops and maintains strong relationships with the children and their families in her center.  She encourages parent involvement and establishes a sense of trust and security so that parents are comfortable at work knowing that their child is in a nurturing environment. In addition, Darla acts as the on-site point of contact with our employer sponsor answering everyday questions and maintaining a positive relationship.

Darla has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 14 years and with WestLake CDC for the past 8 years. During 2008 Darla earned her Master's Degree in Education specializing in Early Childhood Education. Darla is proud to be the Director of a NAEYC accredited school and has held a variety of early childhood education roles ranging from lead teacher to consultant.  Darla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child/Family Development. What she loves most about her job is the kids and getting to know them and their families. Darla’s favorite center activity is the Fall Family Fest.
