Child Care Program

Are you interested in placing your child in a high-quality child care program? Have you had difficulty finding space for your child(ren) and are on a wait list with another provider?

Employees of Genentech may receive priority access at the Knowledge Beginnings center located at 3585 NW 215th Avenue in Hillsboro, OR.  In addition, this center has another benefit in place for Genentech employees where you may be eligible to receive a 10% weekly discount off of your child’s tuition.  Through this program, the center is able to discount a total of six infant and toddler slots for Genentech employees (first come, first serve), and discount an unlimited number of preschool through school age slots.  As an employee with Genentech, your family has the opportunity to gain a space in our program, and possibly a discount, sooner than families in the community.

Please visit the center’s site http://www.knowledgebeginnings.com/our-centers/center-details/070601/ for more information on this center.  You may also contact the Center Director by calling 503-614-1141 or by emailing 070601@klcorp.com to learn more about the wait list and other center features.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. What is Priority Access?
As a Genentech family and through the Priority Access program with CCLC’s affiliation with Knowledge Beginnings, you will be placed on a center wait list for Genentech families only, should the classroom in which you’re interested in enrolling your child(ren) is full. Genentech families will be contacted before community families when a space becomes available in the center. The Priority Access program will greatly decrease the amount of time a Genentech family will be on the wait list at the Knowledge Beginnings center.
  2. What is the approximate waiting list time to get into the Knowledge Beginnings center?
Wait list time varies from age group to age group and season to season. Your wait time will be determined by the age of your child and the classroom in which you’re interested in enrolling. On average a community member can expect to wait 12 - 18 month before they are contacted regarding openings in a center, if the classroom is full. Through this Priority Access program you can expect your wait time to greatly decrease.
  3. How do I add my name to the center’s wait list?
The first step is to submit a request to the center and let them know the age of your child and when you’re interested in enrolling. Names will be added to the wait list in the order in which the center receives the request.
  4. Do I receive a Tuition discount at this center through Genentech’s program with CCLC?
Yes, as a Genentech family and through this program with CCLC, Genentech families may be eligible to receive a 10% discount off of their weekly child’s tuition. Genentech will pay a 10% weekly discount off of a total of six infant and toddler spaces for Genentech families. Additionally, preschool through school age classrooms will also offer a 10% discount. There are no restrictions to how many spaces can be discounted. This discount is not combinable with any other discounts or offers the center may have available, such as a sibling discount. The discount is only available upon request and once the Genentech family shows proof of employment with Genentech and requests to be included in the program.
  5. Does this center offer backup care?
This center does not participate in CCLC’s backup care program, but if you are enrolled on a part-time basis and need to supplement your child’s schedule by utilizing additional days, you may be able to utilize the center on a drop-in basis as needed. Registration fees would be waived since your family is already enrolled. Daily drop-in rates would apply, so please talk to the Center Director if you’re interested in learning more about drop-in care and what applicable fees would apply to your child.
  6. Who do I contact if I have general questions regarding the Priority Access or Tuition discount program?
Please contact us by e-mail at Genentech@cclc.com or email the center directly at 070601@klcorp.com.
