City of Mountain View Back Up Childcare
Our program provides a child care option when City of Mt. View employees primary care arrangement breaks down or is unavailable. For example, when your childís center is closed, your provider is ill or when unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from getting to work this program helps meet your needs. Care is offered at the City of Mt. View child care center located at: 266 Escuela Avenue in Mountain View, CA.
How do I get started?
- First you need to complete the 3 page Back up Care form and FAX it to the child care center at (650) 938-2257. Once you have completed the registration process your child (ren) are set to use back up care! For any general questions please contact at Katrina Martinez at kmartinez@cclc.com.

How much notice do I need to give to use back up care?
- Contact the Mt. View center at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements. You can call sooner if you know a head of time you will have the need for back up care. Contact us via e-mail at kmartinez@cclc.com or via phone at 650-938-2252.
What should my child bring on a back up care day?
- Infants and toddlers: Please pack all bottles, beginners' cups, solid foods, diapers, wipes, and a sheet and blanket for napping.
- Jr. Preschool - Pre-K: Please bring a lunch, sheets and blanket for naptime (snacks are provided by CCLC in the morning and the afternoon).
- Lunch: Due to allergies, please do not pack foods with nuts! We can heat up foods for your child if necessary.
What can I expect when I drop my child off for back up care?
- The Director or Head Teacher (depending on what time you drop off) will greet you when you arrive. You will then be escorted to your child's classroom and be introduced to the Head Teacher and Teachers.
- The Teacher will integrate your child into the classroom with the other children, in the older age groups your child will be teamed up with a "buddy" for the day.
- The Head Teacher or Teacher will have time to speak with you to discuss any pertinent information we should know for the day
How will I know how my child did at CCLC for the day?
- A daily report will be completed by the Head Teach. This will provide information on what your child did while at CCLC! Infants and toddlers will have detailed reports on diaper changes, feeding and napping.
Registration
- All forms can be downloaded from the web site or obtained from the Center. CCLC will process your child's registration packet promptly. Spaces can be reserved from 2 months to 24 hours in advance. City of Mt. View employees' can use a maximum of 20 days per calendar year per child when space is available.
Reservations
Once CCLC receives all required paperwork you are eligible for the Backup Care program. When you are in need of Backup Care e-mail CCLC at kmartinez@cclc.com and be sure to include the following information: your name, child's name and age, date care needed and hours care is need. If space is available you will receive a confirmation e-mail with all the details on backup care. We strongly recommend that you schedule an introductory visit to become familiar with the program. Reservations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Please note all spaces are subject to availability.
Cancellations
If you have received an e-mail confirmation from CCLC and you need to cancel, please contact us immediately. CCLC will make every effort to accommodate all requests and will offer your reservations to another family. Reservations must be canceled no later than 4:00p.m. the day prior to the reservation date or your reservations will be counted as a use. Fees
Each child is eligible to use 20 visits per year at a cost of $50 per visit (regardless of the number of hours used). Fees are to be paid directly to the center by check, written to CCLC, on the day of care.
