Center Overview

CCLC and Clif Bar are proud to announce the opening of the Clif Bar Child Care Center, serving Clif Bar & Company employees. The center will provide care for children ranging in age from 3 months through 6 years. 

The exciting brand-new center will provide full and part-week schedules as well as space available drop-in services. The operating hours will be set based on parent feedback during the enrollment process to best accommodate the majority of the families utilizing the center.   Care will be provided Monday - Friday.   The center can accommodate up to 64 full time children.

The physical address of the center is 1400 65^th Street, Emeryville, CA 94608 in the EmeryTech building.  Clif Bar, with support from CCLC, is designing a state-of-the-art childcare center with an adjacent outdoor play area. The center will provide a unique environment that meets children's developmental and physical wellness needs as well as meets the current national and state safety standards for a child care center. The center will have play yards that are designed to provide interesting experiences for children as well as to support an outdoor curriculum.  The center design will have a focus on the environment and being eco-responsible. 

Center Quality & Features

• NAEYC Standards: The Clif Bar Child Care Center offers a high-quality, developmentally appropriate curriculum with low teacher / child ratios. The center will be set up to meet and in some cases exceed the accreditation standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) -- a highly regarded child development organization. NAEYC standards are only achieved by 8% of all 110,000 programs nationally. The center will apply for NAEYC accreditation when eligible, after one year of operation.
• Low Ratios: The center will operate with low teacher to child ratios and small group sizes. This will allow our teaching staff to focus more on small group and individual needs of each child. Children transition from age group to age group based on development in the infant and toddler programs.

• Eco-Healthy Child Care: CCLC is committed to being eco-responsible and providing eco-healthy environments for children.  The Clif Bar Child Care Center will be set up to meet standards for Eco-Healthy Child Care Centers as established by the Oregon Environmental Council.   CCLC will apply for endorsement upon opening the center.   
• Guided Discovery Curriculum: The center will utilize CCLC's exclusive Guided Discovery Curriculum^TM. CCLC's curriculum incorporates physical, social, language, cognitive and emotional development. Guided Discovery is rooted in educational philosophy and theory as well as practice.
• Teaching Staff: Quality Teachers: CCLC’s teaching team is comprised of Early Childhood Professionals who meet and in many cases exceed all state requirements.
